Post Date: 1 August 2025 Game Workshop “From Farm to Fridge: Tackling Milk's Environmental Challenges Through Lifecycle Management” @ HKUST Summer Bootcamp for PolyMathIn July, the HKUST Summer Bootcamp for Polymath brought together a cohort of exceptionally talented high school students, nurturing them into well-rounded polymaths under the guidance of HKUST professors.
One of the highlights was an engaging game workshop led by Dr. Meike SAUERWEIN, Lecturer at the Division of Environment and Sustainability, titled “From Farm to Fridge: Tackling Milk's Environmental Challenges Through Lifecycle Management”. By simulating the end-to-end production processes of milk in the board game “Milk Co: The Life Cycle Challenge", participants learned how to strategize, practice and discuss how to strike a balance between commercial and environmental considerations when designing products. This innovative approach not only made learning enjoyable but also helped participants get a clearer picture of lifecycle management.
