Post Date: 1 December 2023 Prof. Alexis Lau and Prof. Jimmy Fung Honored at the 5th Faculty Recognition Ceremony 2023 for Winning Gold Award in Asia Smart App Awards 2022/23We are delighted to announce that Prof. Alexis Lau and Prof. Jimmy Fung have been recognized at the 5th Faculty Recognition Ceremony 2023 for their outstanding achievement in winning the Gold Award in the Public Sector and Social Innovation category of the Asia Smart App Awards 2022/23.
The Asian Smart App Awards, supported by CreateHK of the Hong Kong government, are a major showcase for app developers in Asia. A tough selection process by experts from across Asia whittled over 140 entries from 16 regions down to just nine finalists. The competition has three categories: Public Sector and social Innovation, Lifestyle and Entertainment, and Business and Commercial. HKUST's Institute for the Environment shone brightly, and won the Gold Award in the Public Sector & Social Innovation category with their innovative PRAISE-HK-EXP app, a testament to their commitment to using smart technology for social good.
