Post Date: 26 May 2014 Low Carbon and CO 2 Technologies for Sustainable EnergyObjectives of the SeminarThis postgraduate student seminar will present the state-of-the-science in low-carbon and CO 2 technologies for a sustainable energy future, and provide a discussion forum to address these issues. Low-carbon hybrid energy systems and CO 2 capture, valorization and use are new strategic approaches aimed at creating energy independence and sustainability in a carbon constrained world. The speakers will provide a broad and in-depth perspective into emerging low-carbon and CO 2 technologies for energy generation and fuel production. The guests and in particular Prof. Wei are world-renowned experts and their talks are chosen especially to give a coherent and complete picture of what is going on at the forefront of this area of research. Current developments will be discussed and future trends in the field will be predicted. Postgraduate students will benefit from the inter-disciplinary nature of this seminar and the opportunity to interact and discuss their research with highly regarded experts in the field.
